Many of us learn to negotiate through experience. Over the years, we have moved from the distributive (win-lose) paradigm to more integrative ones, where everyone wins (Win-Win), and the word “no” is co-opted (Getting to Yes). But we are still teaching negotiation strategy based on 20th century economic models that put the transaction, rather than humanity, at the center.

Now is the time for an evolution.

Let me help you create a rich, experiential environment for your participants to practice transformative negotiation, learning the true secrets of how to come to agreement from the inside out.

Teaching

Teach your students to become more knowledgeable about themselves, their negotiating partners, and their external environments, and how to be creative when negotiations stall, mindful of attachments, and compassionate in the face of hostility. Whether your students are undergraduates, graduates (business, law, engineering), or in continuing education programs, they will benefit by becoming more confident, successful negotiators.

I will work with you to customize a Transformative Negotiation program of any length based on your specific needs.  Please email me if you are interested.

Consulting

If you would like me to speak or facilitate on transformative negotiation, please email me with a brief description of the venue, time frame, and audience.

“The skills covered in this precise volume will “transform” both negotiated outcomes and the participants themselves. Accomplished negotiator and attorney Michèle Huff draws from Buddhist concepts of mindfulness, her personal business experiences, and cites examples ranging from Nelson Mandela, Henry Kissinger and the Dalai Lama to explain core techniques that work, as well as those that do not. Simple exercises throughout illustrate key concepts readers can make their own. From awareness of physical aspects such as posture and breathing, to controlling anger, and the sophisticated practice of humility, these techniques will prove invaluable any time negotiation partners need to come to agreement, as well as in everyday life.”
